Lucknow: The Winter Session of the Uttar Pradesh Legislature began on Wednesday. On the first day of this three-day session, tributes were paid to Sukhdev Rajbhar, former Speaker of the House and a member of the Seventeenth Assembly, and the country’s first Chief of Defense Staff (CDS) General Bipin Rawat, his wife Madhulika Rawat and 11 other army personnel. Later, the proceedings of the house were adjourned till 11 am on Thursday.
The proceedings of the winter session of the State Legislature Party started at 11 am on Wednesday and as soon as the proceedings began, on the instructions of Speaker Hriday Narayan Dixit, the Leader of the House and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath took the House to the former Speaker of the Assembly Sukhdev Rajbhar and Coonoor in Tamil Nadu. The accident reported the death of the country’s first CDS General Bipin Rawat, his wife Madhulika Rawat and 11 other army officers.

Expressing condolence, the Chief Minister paid homage to the departed. Paying tribute to General Rawat, the Chief Minister said, “General Rawat was originally a resident of Uttarakhand. He had rich experience of 40 years of military service. As a CDS he was known to take courageous and reasonable decisions.
He has done a lot of work in modernizing the armed forces.” Chief Minister Adityanath also paid tribute to former UP Assembly Speaker Sukhdev Rajbhar on the occasion and said he was a “dedicated” public representative who was concerned about the development of his constituency.
Sukhdev Rajbhar, former Speaker of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly and leader of Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), died on October 18 after prolonged illness. He was an MLA from Didarganj constituency of Azamgarh. Rajbhar (70) was in the BSP government between 2007 and 2012. He was the Speaker of the UP Legislative Assembly.
Leader of Opposition Ramgovind Choudhary, Leader of BSP in the House Umashankar Singh, Congress Legislature Party leader Aradhana Mishra Mona and Apna Dal leader Hari Ram also paid tributes to the deceased. After this, Deputy Speaker Nitin Agarwal also paid tribute to the deceased. (agency)
