The celebration of Thirty First was celebrated at homes for the second consecutive year due to the restrictions imposed due to the increasing transition of the new variant of Corona, Omicron. Due to which the housewives including the child party welcomed the co-family New Year. Hotels, restaurants, dhabas, beer bars-permit rooms remained closed due to the order of the police administration to close the market after 9 pm under the increasing cases of Omicron in the state. On Friday, there was a police arrangement in every corner of the city.
Because of this, the citizens did not even bother to go out and welcomed the new year with the family at home with simplicity. Restaurants, bars and dhabas lashed out at the police. At the same time, in the second year also, women sent prayers to the police due to being compelled to celebrate Thirty First in all the male and female households.

On Saturday, the first day of the new year, there was a lot of crowd in the temples of the city. Devotees appeared in various temples including Ambadevi, Ekvira Devi, Sai Mandir, Satidham, Bhakti Dham, Shri Krishna Temple at Matakhid, ISKCON Temple at Gadge Nagar, Gadge Baba Samadhi Temple etc. to start the new year with the darshan of God. On the night of Thirty First, people celebrated the new year with fireworks by enjoying cakes, pastries etc.
Action on 269 drivers
On the night of the Thirty First, there was silence in the entire city as the police came out on the streets in the city. Fear of khaki and fear of police action, no one dared to drive under the influence of alcohol. Due to the closure of hotels, bars, restaurants on time, there was no crowd to celebrate here. Due to cancellation of events, events, parties and celebrations, citizens celebrated Thirty First in their homes. Due to which there was no undue incident and accident to Thirty First. Meanwhile, 269 drivers who broke the traffic rules were fined after taking action.

From 8 o’clock on Friday night, the city police came out on the road for action by putting barricades at 39 points of the city. Drunken drive investigation campaign was carried out by blockade at every square-intersection. In which the driver who was driving under the influence of alcohol was checked with a beat analyzer machine. In which the action of drunken drive was taken on 3 drunken drivers. Due to which a case was registered against 3 people in the City Kotwali police station. Similarly, 269 drivers were fined for violating traffic rules. In which 137 cases were done in East Department and 132 in West Department. From whom a fine of lakhs was collected.
Market and roads deserted
Due to night curfew and strict police arrangements from 9 am to 6 am, there was silence in the deserted roads and market areas from 9 pm onwards. Police was visible at every square and intersection. At 10.30 pm CP Dr. Arti Singh came down on the road with Fauj Pate. CP checked vehicles at Rajkamal Chowk. Despite the order to keep all cinema halls closed on the night of Thirty First, the show of Pushpa film was going on in Rajalakshmi cinema hall.
Due to which the CP immediately called the manager of the cinema hall and instructed to take action for violating the order. At the same time, Nilima Araj, the city police station officer, was given strict instructions not to tolerate such careless spinning in the police station area. Similarly, the Nice Day Bar Shapi, located at Panchvati Chowk in Gadge Nagar, was investigated. After which the hotels and dhabas located on the highway road in Nandgaon Peth area were investigated. Seeing the tight police arrangements on the roads, most of the people considered it good to celebrate the new year by staying at home.
Action on Shivshakti ice cream
City Kotwali Police has registered a case against Dinesh Ganeshlal Suwalka (28, near Balaji temple) for gathering a crowd by selling ice cream on a hand cart named Shivshakti Ice Cream on Tehsil Office Road at 11 pm during night curfew. A case has been registered against Dinesh under the Objection Settlement Act.
