When the Titanic ship landed in the sea for the first time, people were surprised to see it. The reason behind this was the huge size of the ship, which was the largest sea ship at that time. Titanic ship has deep connection with today’s day i.e. April 10. In fact, the ill-fated ship sailed from Southampton harbor in Britain on 10 April for its first and last voyage to New York City. As soon as the mention of the Titanic ship, all the scenes of the accident related to it pass in front of the eyes.
The ship collided with an iceberg on the way on the fifth day after the start of the voyage. Within just two hours of the collision, 1490 lives fell to death in the depths of the ocean. There were 20 lifeboats on this giant ship. About 54 percent of the ship’s passengers could be kept safe on this. After the sinking of the ship, there was a body of corpses behind it. The sinking of the Titanic came to light a month later, when RMS Oceanic’s crew spotted a wooden piece floating. The corpses of two people were found in this piece of wood, which belonged to the people working on the Titanic.
There were 2200 passengers and crew members aboard the ship
The Titanic was designed by Irish shipbuilder William Pirri and built in Belfast. It was considered to be the fastest ship in the world. The ship was 883 feet long and its hull was divided into 16 compartments, from where underwater penetration was impossible. The Titanic had a total of 2200 passengers and crew members on its maiden voyage. After stopping in Cherbourg, France and Queenstown, Ireland to pick up some last passengers, the ship moved rapidly towards New York City. The ship was to cross the Atlantic Sea and reach New York City.
Ship fully sunk in two hours
Titanic, moving towards New York, collided with an iceberg (big piece of ice) on the way. The ship failed to protect itself from this collision. Immediately after the collision, the Titanic began to fill water rapidly. The front of the ship is now slowly sinking into the sea. During this time there was an atmosphere of chaos among the people aboard the ship. Within the Titanic, the water was filling up so fast that the front part of the ship got engulfed in the sea and its back got up. After this, the ship crashed and in two hours it completely sank into the sea.
