Significantly, on 26 July 2008, 21 bomb blasts took place in Ahmedabad during 70 minutes, in which 56 people also lost their lives. More than 200 were also injured.
Let us tell you that after this serial blasts in Ahmedabad, the police got bombs in different areas of Surat, after which 20 FIRs were registered in Ahmedabad and 15 in Surat. The matter was heard after the court clubbed all the 35 FIRs together.
Let us know that the links of the blasts in Ahmedabad were linked to the banned organization Hizbul Mujahideen (IM) and in December 2009, the trial against a total of 78 people started. Later, after one accused became a government witness, the total number of accused was reduced to 77.
At the same time, the police had made a serious allegation on the matter that Hizbul Mujahideen (IM) terrorists had planned these blasts to avenge the communal riots in Gujarat in 2002 after the Godhra incident. Many people of the minority community also died in these riots.
