Nagpur. In the upcoming municipal elections, Congress is going to give tickets to those office bearers who will make more and more members in the digital membership campaign. The city Congress has become active in view of the recent release of the draft of the division composition by the Municipal Corporation and the upcoming municipal elections. A meeting of office-bearers was organized under the leadership of city president and MLA Vikas Thackeray at Devdia Congress Bhawan, in which a strategy was prepared in the context of municipal elections.
The party’s membership drive is being started before the elections, which will be digital. In this context, it was instructed to register the membership of one woman and one man at each booth through the Chief Enroller. After that from February 6, all the office bearers were asked to participate in large number of digital membership in all the wards and divisions of the entire city. It was also clarified that the one who does maximum digital membership will be given priority in giving tickets in the municipal elections.
Congress will get benefit
Vikas Thackeray said that despite the BJP being in power in the city for the last 5-7 years, many dharnas, agitations, morchas were organized by the Congress against the wrong decisions, decisions of the ruling authorities and for the public interest. A case was also registered against many office bearers in the police, but due to this, 2 MLAs came from the city and lost 2 candidates by a very small margin. If the party officials and workers remain active unitedly, then the Congress will surely benefit in the upcoming municipal elections.
