Nellore: On Monday, some such pictures from Andhra Pradesh have gone viral on social media (Nellore Police Viral Photo), after seeing which there has been a ruckus. After seeing these pictures, not only the opposition but also the Andhra Pradesh State Commission for Women has expressed displeasure. In fact, it has been seen in these pictures that the body measurements of women personnel are allegedly being taken by male tailors to sew police uniforms.
This incident is of SPS Nellore district. State Women’s Commission chairperson V Padma has spoken to SPS Nellore district superintendent of police C Vijaya Rao on this matter and also sought clarification regarding this. A press release regarding the matter said, “The SP has assured the chairman of the commission that he will ensure that such incidents do not recur.” At the same time, the SP said that immediate corrective action has also been taken on this incident.

It is reported that disciplinary action has also been taken against the head constable who took the measurement of women. Telugu Desam Women’s Wing President Vangalpudi Anita termed the incident as shameful and strongly condemned it. “As a woman, you must ensure that the dignity of the women police is protected,” Anita told state home minister M Sucharita.

At the same time, SPS Nellore Police shared a tweet on Monday evening saying that, action has been ordered against ‘an unknown person’ as per law for entering an area without permission and taking photographs there. Also directed the Additional Superintendent of Police (Administration) to supervise it after deploying the lady tailor.
