Nagpur. District and Sessions Court Judge Sunil Patil’s court acquitted all the six accused in the murder of Monu alias Izhar Malik, a resident of Sanjeevani Quarter in Yashodharanagar police station in 2014, declaring them innocent. These include the names of Kaju Siddiqui, Armaan Siddiqui, Rustum Siddiqui, Riazuddin Siddiqui, Kallu Siddiqui and Sibu Siddiqui.
It is to be known that everyone was accused that on September 14, 2014, at around 3 pm, there was a fight between Kaju and Sonu, brother of the deceased Monu. Keeping this in mind, all the 6 accused went to Sonu’s house and called him out. But he was not at home. In such a situation, when Monu came out of the house, all the accused started beating.
A sharp weapon was stabbed in the chest
Meanwhile, Armaan stabbed the sharp weapon kept with him in the chest of Monu, due to which he died. The police had registered a case on the complaint of Monu’s uncle Irfan Ahmed. After this, the then PI Ghuge arrested all the accused and confiscated the blood-stained clothes and screwdriver-like weapons worn at the time of murder. After thorough investigation, a charge sheet was presented against the accused in the court. A total of 16 witnesses were presented by the prosecution. On the other hand, public prosecutor Kalpana Pandey, citing the blood-stained clothes seized from the accused by the police and weapons like screwdriver, demanded strict punishment, holding the accused guilty.
Which weapon, it is not decided
On the other hand, Advocate Chandrashekhar Jaltare, on behalf of the defense, argued in the court that the accused are being deliberately implicated. Despite the killing in broad daylight, no one other than the family members of the deceased has come forward to give any statement. And the statements given are also inconsistent. At the same time, the police have seized a weapon like a screwdriver, but it is not being told clearly that with what type of weapon the murder has been done.
Whether this weapon was a secret or a knife, nothing is clearly known. According to the post-mortem report, the wound on Monu’s body does not determine whether it was caused by a screwdriver. If Monu was killed by Armaan’s one blow, how could the rest of the wounds on his body. At the same time, even the blood-stained clothes were not sealed, so it cannot be considered. After hearing all the arguments, the court acquitted everyone by saying them innocent. On behalf of the defense, Ed. Jaltare and Deepak Dixit while Kalpana Pandey on behalf of the government and Ed. RB Gaikwad argued.
