Bhandara: The government very easily canceled the meetings of the legislature in Nagpur and took them in Mumbai and has assumed that since the Vidarbhavadi is calm and tolerant, there is no reaction. Considering the people of Vidarbha to be tolerant as its weak, not only the citizens but also the big leaders are angry with the injustice being done one after the other on Vidarbha due to the silence of the dominant government of Western Maharashtra and the big leaders of Vidarbha involved in it. Although the anger reflected in the statements does not take the form of agitation, the road to Vidarbha will not be easy.
Government’s excuse: All party leader is not happy
The government had postponed the winter session in Nagpur on the pretext of Corona. After this it was expected that the government would organize a budget session in Nagpur to pacify the anger of the Vaidarbhis. But the Nagpur session has been shifted back to Mumbai. The reason given for this is that in Nagpur there is no facility in the legislature for the members of both the houses to sit together for the address of the Governor. Vidarbha leaders and social workers, including the opposition and the ruling party, have expressed their displeasure in this regard.
Violation of agreement: Prashant Lanjewar
According to former Shiv Sena Upazila Pramukh Prashant Lanjewar, the state government is repeatedly running away from Nagpur to Mumbai for the convention. This is in violation of the Nagpur Agreement. This is a great injustice to Vidarbha.
Vidarbha should be discussed: Jayshree Borkar
Congress Women’s Unit District President Jayshree Borkar said that the conference to be held in Nagpur for the last two years was taken in Mumbai citing the outbreak of Corona. It was expected that the budget session would be held in Nagpur. But this expectation was not fulfilled. In such a situation, the government should respect the sentiments of the people of Vidarbha by giving them free time to discuss the Vidarbha issue in the Mumbai session.
He was there for the struggle: Pramod Yellejwar
Pramod Yellajwar, who spearheaded the women’s savings group movement in Bhandara district, said the winter session was missed, but at least the summer session was to be held in Nagpur for Vidarbha’s right to justice. This would have helped in brainstorming on problems in Vidarbha and clearing the backlog. The sentiments of Vidarbha residents are being played again and again. Due to this, the government is doing the work of awakening the feeling of alienation in the minds of the people of Vidarbha who are sitting quietly. She is provoking people with her behavior.
Condemnable move: MP Sunil Mendhe
MP Sunil Mendhe has termed as “serious and condemnable” the act of depriving Nagpur of its right to a convention by the Shiv Sena-led Maha Aghadi government. He said that this shows that this government is insensitive towards Vidarbha. The people of Vaidarbha are deeply disappointed by this decision. As per the Nagpur Agreement, it is mandatory to hold a conference in Nagpur at least once a year. But the government has deliberately shifted the convention to Mumbai to humiliate the people of Vidarbha.
Vidarbha is anti, state government
Member of Legislative Council of Bhandara and Gondia district Dr. Pariney Phuke said that Mahavikas Aghadi has proved that he is anti-Vidarbha in the state. The people of Vidarbha will not sit still without teaching a lesson to this government that has betrayed the people of Vidarbha.
The convention should be held in Nagpur itself: Mohan Panchbhai
Congress District President Mohan Panchbhai gave a balanced response and said that in fact the winter session should have been held in Nagpur. But promised to give the budget session in Nagpur. But now that is happening in Mumbai. It is sad that there is no convention in Nagpur. The hopes and feelings of the people of Vidarbha should be respected. Inclusive development in Vidarbha needs to be accelerated. He called upon the three parties to come together and hold the planned convention in Nagpur.
False Pretense: Mukesh Pudke
OBC State Federation Secretary Mukesh Pudke said that the government is lying, the number of corona patients has come down. School has started. Tourist places, public events, celebrations are taking place. It is clear that the government has no intention of holding a convention in Nagpur. Injustice has been done to Vidarbha. The government wants to avoid issues related to Vidarbha.
Due to their anti-Vidarbha policy, the government is doing injustice to Vidarbha time and again. Ever since the triple government came into existence in the state, there has been no session except the first one in Nagpur.
