Lucknow: The fate of many ministers, former ministers and VIP candidates, including Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, will be closed in the ballot boxes on Thursday in the sixth phase of voting for the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections. Voting will be held on Thursday in 57 assembly seats in 10 districts of Eastern Uttar Pradesh. In this phase, where Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath himself is the candidate from his home district Gorakhpur, Cabinet Minister Suryapratap Shahi Deoria’s Pathardeva, Jai Pratap Singh Bansi, Jaiprakash Nishad Rudrapur, Satishtandra Dwivedi Etawa, Upendra Tiwari Phephna, former minister Swami Prasad Maurya, Fazilnagar of Kushinagar, Rajkishore Singh Harrayya and State Congress President Ajay Kumar Lallu and Leader of Opposition Ramgovind Chaudhary are candidates from Bansdih Ballia district, former minister Lalji Verma Katehari, Ram Achal Rajbhar from Akbarpur seat.
The places where elections are being held in this phase include Chief Minister Yogi’s district Gorakhpur, which has a total of nine assembly seats. Of these, BJP had won eight in 2017, while one seat went to Chillupar BSP. Apart from all the seats of Gorakhpur, there is a Yogi influence in the surrounding districts as well. Due to this effect, he himself is contesting from here that BJP will get its benefit in all other seats as well. In such a situation, the effect of Yogi will also be tested here.

Swami Prasad Maurya in election fray from Padrauna
At the same time, cabinet minister Swami Prasad Maurya, who left the BJP and joined the SP just before the elections, is in the fray from Fazilnagar instead of Padrauna. Ram Govind Chaudhary candidate from Bansdih seat
In this phase, Leader of Opposition Ram Govind Chaudhary is in the fray from Ballia’s Bansdih seat. At the same time, Agriculture Minister Surya Pratap Shahi is contesting from the Pathardeva seat of Deoria. BSP leader Legislature Party Uma Shankar Singh will also face a challenge to save this seat.

Voting will be held on Thursday in 57 seats in the districts of Ambedkar Nagar, Balrampur, Siddharthnagar, Basti, Sant Kabir Nagar, Maharajganj, Gorakhpur, Kushinagar, Deoria and Ballia in the sixth phase of Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections. In the last 2017 assembly elections, out of these seats, the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) won 46, Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) 5, Samajwadi Party (SP) 2 seats. One seat each in the account of Apna Dal, Subhasp and Congress and one seat was given to Independents. Due to the success of the BSP in this phase in the last many elections, people’s eyes are also on its performance this time.
