New Delhi: For the Punjab Assembly elections, an alliance was decided between the Bharatiya Janata Party, Amarinder Singh’s Punjab Lok Congress and Shiromani Akali Dal (United). In a press conference held at the BJP headquarters in New Delhi, JP Nadda while announcing the seat-sharing said, “Amarinder Singh’s party will contest on 37 seats, BJP 65 and Dhinda ji’s party on 15 seats.”
Addressing the press conference, Nadda said, “Punjab needs special attention. Security is a very minor issue. This choice is for stability and security. Our aim is to bring Punjab back on track.” He said, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi has constituted the SIT to probe the 1984 riots and today the accused are in jails. We will end ‘Mafia Raj’ in Punjab.

Imran Khan had recommended to include Sidhu in the cabinet
In the press conference held at the BJP headquarters, former Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh made a big disclosure about Navjot Singh Sidhu. He said that, “The PM of Pakistan had sent a request that if you (Congress Punjab President Navjot Singh) can take Sidhu in your cabinet then I will be grateful, he is my old friend. If they don’t work, you can remove them.”

It is to be known that the Bharatiya Janata Party has released its first list of candidates for the upcoming assembly elections. In which he had announced the names of candidates for 34 seats. At the same time, Captain Amarinder Singh also announced the names of 22 candidates of his party two days ago. Captain will contest from his traditional Patiala seat.
