New Delhi. India and China are yet to finalize the date for the next round of Corps Commander-level talks on the eastern Ladakh border standoff. There has been no response from the Chinese military on India’s proposals for talks. Sources gave this information on Thursday. He said that the Indian side has sent at least two proposals to the People’s Liberation Army of China for the 14th round of military talks, but there has been no response so far. The Indian proposals include a potentially broad framework and agenda items for negotiations. The 13th round of Corps Commander-level military talks in October was inconclusive.
The Indian Army had said that the Chinese side did not agree to its “constructive suggestion”. India and China in a digital diplomatic dialogue on November 18 agreed to hold the 14th round of military talks at the earliest to achieve the goal of complete withdrawal of troops from the remaining places of standoff in eastern Ladakh.

A source familiar with the developments said that the Chinese side is adopting a strategy of deliberate delay in resolving the standoff. India is emphasizing on reducing tension and withdrawing troops at all standoff points in eastern Ladakh.
The standoff between the armies of India and China began in the Eastern Ladakh region on 5 May 2020. After a violent confrontation in the Pangong Lake area, the armies of both countries deployed thousands of soldiers and heavy weapons. After several rounds of military and diplomatic-level talks, the two sides last year completed the process of withdrawing troops from the northern and southern banks of Pangong Lake and the Gogra area.
