Lucknow: The seventh phase and the last phase of the Uttar Pradesh Assembly Election 2022 is full of tainted candidates, while a large number of youth have also entered the field of politics. In the seventh phase of elections, 36 percent crorepatis and 28 percent are in the tainted field. Uttar Pradesh Election Watch and Association for Democratic Reform (ADR) have analyzed the affidavits of 607 candidates out of 613 contesting in the seventh phase of Uttar Pradesh Assembly Election 2022, who are contesting from 54 constituencies.
According to the criminal cases declared by the candidates, 170 or 28 per cent of the total 607 candidates have declared criminal cases against themselves, while 22 per cent have declared serious criminal cases against themselves. The maximum 58 percent of the tainted candidates are from the Samajwadi Party, while 44 percent of the BJP have criminal cases registered. 26 out of 45 candidates of SP, 26 out of 47 candidates of BJP and 20 out of 52 candidates of BSP have criminal history. At the same time, 20 out of 54 candidates of the Congress i.e. 37 percent have criminal cases registered against them.

Vijay Mishra ranks first in criminal cases
The first among the criminal cases declared by the candidates in the seventh phase is Vijay Mishra from Pragatisheel Manav Samaj Party, a candidate from Bhadohi’s Gyanpur assembly seat with 24 cases registered against him. In second place is Raj Kumar Singh Gautam of Bahujan Samaj Party from Ghazipur Assembly seat, who has 11 cases and Ajay Rai from Varanasi Pindra assembly constituency of Congress who has 17 cases against him. In the seventh phase, a total of 11 candidates have declared cases related to atrocities against women, out of these 11 candidates have declared cases related to rape against themselves.
65% sensitive constituencies in the seventh phase
In the seventh phase of the Uttar Pradesh assembly elections, 65 per cent are sensitive constituencies, where 3 or more candidates have declared criminal cases against themselves. In the case of crorepati candidates in the last phase, 40 or 85 percent of BJP’s 47, Samajwadi Party’s 37 i.e. 82 percent and BSP’s 79 and Congress 41 percent are included.
Guddu Jamali has the highest property
Among the top 3 candidates who declared maximum assets, Guddu Jamali, AIMIM’s candidate from Mubarakpur Vidhansabha in Azamgarh district, has declared assets of Rs 195 crore, Babulal Bahujan Samaj Party from Pindra, Varanasi, whose assets have been declared at the second position. 44 crore, while on the third place is Piyush Kumar Singh from Nizamabad assembly seat of the same party, who has declared his assets as Rs 34 crore. In the seventh phase, 37 per cent or 224 candidates have declared their age between 25 and 40 years, while 49 per cent have declared their age between 41 and 60 years.
