Meerut/Lucknow: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has changed the practice of many previous governments regarding payment of sugarcane farmers in the state. Now sugarcane farmers are getting payment on time as compared to earlier. Along with this, the pendency running from year to year has also come to a halt. In Western UP, the Yogi government has paid the sugarcane price more than twice as much as the SP government. Sugar mills have also been updated in the last five and a half years. Now sugarcane is mixing sweetness in western UP.
Not only is the state on the first rank in the production of sugarcane and sugar in the country, but CM Yogi has also paid more sugarcane farmers than the previous governments. So far, more than 1.5 lakh crore has been paid by the government to sugarcane farmers in the state. In Sahanpur, Meerut, Moradabad and Bareilly divisions of western UP, the previous government had paid around Rs 39,738 crore between 2012-17. While the Yogi government has paid Rs 95,650 crore from 2017 to 29 December 2021. That is, the Yogi government has paid about two and a half times to the sugarcane farmers than the previous government. Due to timely payment to the farmers, the problems of the farmers have also been resolved to a great extent.

Comparing the sugarcane payment in western UP with the previous government, the difference becomes clear that the Yogi government has not shied away from payment. The Yogi government has paid the highest amount of Rs 30,645.67 crore in Moradabad division from 2017 to 2021 December in western UP. Whereas only 18,521.03 crore was paid in the SP government. Similarly, Rs 25,564.02 crore has been paid in Saharanpur division. While Rs 14,628.09 crore was paid in the SP government. The Yogi government has paid Rs 22,455.73 crore in Meerut division at number three. While the SP government had paid Rs 13,324.50 crore.
In the payment of sugarcane price, all the previous records were broken in the state.
The Yogi government has paid Rs 4,907.98 crore in the crushing season 2021-22, Rs 30,547.23 crore in 2020-21, Rs 35,898.85 crore in the crushing season 2019-20, Rs 33,048.06 crore in 2018-19 and Rs 35,444.06 crore in 2017-18. Along with this, a total of Rs 1,50,508 crore has been paid so far, including 10,661.38 crore for the previous crushing seasons, which is 55,293 crore against cane price payment between 2012 and 2017 and 98,377 against cane price payment between 2007 and 2012. crore more.
