Regarding this matter, the Municipal Commissioner held a meeting with the officials of the concerned department of the Municipal Corporation, in this meeting, he directed to take strict action against the contractor of the toilet concerned and levy heavy penalty if the toilet is found unhygienic. Even after penal action, if the work is not improved, then blacklist the contractor, this order has also been given by the Municipal Commissioner.

Municipal Commissioner Abhijit Bangar held a meeting with the officials of the concerned department of the Municipal Corporation regarding the cleanliness of public and community toilets in the municipal area. During this meeting held at the Municipal Headquarters located in CBD, Municipal Commissioner Bangar directed the officials of the department related to the Municipal Corporation to pay special attention to the cleanliness of the toilets of the city. Most toilets in Ghansoli department
Keeping in view the cleanliness survey, the work has been done by the Municipal Commissioner Bangar to make the municipal area open defecation free. To realize this task, he has got public and community toilets constructed on a large scale in the municipal area. Due to which now the number of public and community toilets in the municipal area has increased to 606. Out of which maximum number of toilets are in Ghansoli department of Municipal Corporation. In this department, 98 public and community toilets have been provided by the Municipal Corporation to the citizens, while Belapur department has 83, Nerul 84, Vashi 37, Turbhe 80, Koparkhairane 70, Airoli 76 and Digha department has provided 78 public and community toilets. . Independent contractors have been appointed to maintain toilets in these eight departments.
The locations of all toilets in the Navi Mumbai Municipal Area are readily available on Google Maps. It is our responsibility to provide clean toilets to citizens and commuters. Keeping this in mind, the concerned contractors have been instructed to keep the toilets clean. The officers of the concerned department of the Municipal Corporation have been ordered to keep a close watch on whether each toilet is clean and well-equipped.
