- Intensive investigation still pending: Government side
Nagpur. While action is being taken by the committee of Municipal Corporation regarding the stationery scam, on the other hand the application filed for bail by the contractor and employees arrested in the scam is being heard in the District Sessions Court. After the hearing before the District Sessions Judge Patil on Monday, the court informed both the parties about the decision on bail on Tuesday, indicating that the hearing is over.
During the hearing, public prosecutor Prashant Sakhre, appearing for the government side, said that the matter is very complex. According to the investigation done so far, now the functioning of the higher officials and the entire process from the issue of tender till the payment of the bill is yet to be exposed. Apart from this, some files are also yet to be seized. There was a possibility of tampering of evidence if the accused were granted bail.
prescribed payment process
Adhikari, appearing on behalf of Mohan Padvanshi, arrested in the scam. Opposing the arguments of the government side, Prakash Naidu said that the arguments of the government side are contradictory. Earlier, the government side had told that the process of the bill was completed with the approval of the Assistant Commissioner of the General Administration Department, whereas now what is the role of Padavanshi in the bill approval? It is being told that there is a need for its investigation. During the hearing, the court sought an answer from the government side on the process of payment, but after not getting the answer, the Supreme Court. Naidu said the process of payment is fixed. The hard copy of the bill has to be submitted along with the documents which have to be uploaded during e-governance. According to the process of e-governance, after processing the bill, its information is also sent to the heads of the concerned department.
Process from GAD for not having ID of Dr. Chilkar
During the hearing on Monday, Mr. Prashant Sakhre said that the bill has been paid on the basis of the supply of stationery to the health department. According to this, the process of the bill was to be done through the Health Department but this process was done through the General Administration Department. It needs to be investigated. In this context, Mr. Naidu believed that the head of the Health Department, Dr. Sanjay Chilkar, did not have an ID, due to which the entire process of e-governance was done from the General Administration Department. Even though questions are being raised on the process, but what is the involvement of the accused in this, it is not being revealed from the government side. After the arguments of both the sides, the court ended the hearing and reserved the decision.
