Could be a scam for a long time
Standing Committee Chairman Prakash Bhoyer said that no scam happens at all. There is a scam for the first few limited functions. After it is successful, gradually the courage grows. Corruption has similar functioning. Due to which in this case also definitely a scam cannot be ruled out for a long time. He said that the agencies whose information has been exposed in the present stationery scam.
Stationery is being supplied by them for the last 40 years. However, as soon as the matter came to light, the owner of the agency, Sonba Sakore, immediately paid Rs 67 lakh. were returned to the MNP. But the surprising thing is that apart from this, Rs.13-13 lakh also got Rs. K 4 checks have been returned to the Municipal Corporation. This is the reason that if the contractor himself is returning such a huge amount, then he suspects that the depth of the scam is more.
Scrutiny of bills of all departments
The stationery scam has been exposed through the health department. After which, according to the orders of the Municipal Commissioner, ATC. A committee of high officials was constituted under the chairmanship of Commissioner Meena. Which has to check the payment issued by the Finance Department since April 2020. It will not only check stationery but all bill payments. The scope of investigation is huge. Although the commissioner has given instructions to submit the report in 7 days but it may take some time. The bills and payments made in the Finance Department from all the departments will be scrutinized.-Ram Joshi, Addl. Commissioner, Municipal.
