- Smart Kiosk to avail various services of the Corporation

Aurangabad : Aurangabad Smart City has set up Smart Kiosk under the E-Governance Project to provide fast, transparent and efficient services to the citizens. . After the inauguration of Smart Kiosk at the hands of Aaditya Thackeray, Minister of Tourism, Environment and Public Works, Maharashtra, Kiosks are now operational in Citizen Facilitation Centers in Zones 2, 7 and 9 and citizens are taking advantage of it.
Aurangabad Smart City has launched an ambitious e-governance project under the guidance of Municipal Commissioner and Administrator and Smart City CEO Astik Kumar Pandey. The agency, Mars Telecom, was hired last year to implement the project after a tender process. The entire functioning of the corporation will be digitized through e-governance. In this, the work of all the departments of the corporation will be brought on the computer. This will increase the efficiency, speed and transparency of administration. Also, various services provided by the corporation to the citizens will now be available online.

Faiz Ali, Project Engineer, Aurangabad Smart City, said that the e-governance project will now enable citizens to file property tax and water bills, file complaints, obtain birth, death and marriage certificates and issue separate licenses at home. For this it is available on Aurangabad Municipal Corporation website https://www.aurangabadmahapalika.org/ with new facilities. Faiz Ali said, “Due to e-governance, a grievance redressal mechanism is being developed. The complaint department will receive the complaint. If the employees do not take timely action on the issue then the complaint will be automatically forwarded to the senior officers.
Under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner, NMC Aparna Thete through e-governance, about 5 lakh documents of NMC are being scanned and recorded digitally and the employees and officers of the Municipal Corporation are being trained in phases. Municipal Commissioner and Administrator Astik Kumar Pandey said that e-governance project in Municipal Corporation is no longer an option but a necessity. Citizens should be able to avail these services in a simple manner without having to make rounds of the office, without having to spend all the time under the Right to Service.
