Aurangabad: In the meeting of the Board of Governors under Aurangabad Smart City, important projects were approved to promote the development of Aurangabad city for the next 3-4 years. Major projects like Smart Road, Smart Health, Smart Education and Street Transformation project have been approved by the board.
Aurangabad Smart City Development Corporation Ltd. The 16th meeting was held at Aurangabad Smart City Office under the chairmanship of Baldev Singh, Additional Chief Secretary, Industries Department, Government of Maharashtra and Guardian Secretary, Aurangabad. The meeting was attended by District Magistrate Sunil Chavan, CP Dr. Nikhil Gupta, Municipal Commissioner and Smart City CEO Astik Kumar Pandey, Board’s independent director Bhaskar Munde, ASCDCL Additional CEO Arun Shinde, City Engineer Sakharam Panjhade, Municipal Deputy Commissioner Aparna Thete, Deputy Director Municipal Composition. AB Deshmukh, Municipal Corporation Medical Officer Paras Mandlecha, Chief Operating Administrator of Smart City Bus Department Ram Pavanikar, Deputy General Managers Siddharth Bansod and Mukul Dev besides Imran Khan, Sneha Nair, Sneha Bakshi, Faiz Ali, Aditya Tiwari, Rishikesh Ingle of Aurangabad Smart City , Pratik Manavatkar, Kiran Aade were present.

Three important projects got Board’s approval
To speed up the development of the city, under the guidance of District Guardian Minister and Maharashtra Industries Minister K Subhash Desai, Smart City, Smart Road, Smart Health and Smart Education, these three important projects have got the recognition of ASCDCL Board. Smart City will make detailed presentation of each of these projects as per the instructions of the board. Also, a DPR of Rs 317 crore was presented to the state government earlier for the development of roads worth 111 crores of the city. Now it has been taken under Aurangabad Smart City after the recommendation of public representatives. Efforts are on by MLAs Sanjay Sirsath, Pradeep Jaiswal, Atul Save, Ambadas Danve to improve the roads of the city. Keeping their efforts in mind, this new project Smart Road has been started.
Smart health project taken on the suggestion of MP Jalil
Various efforts are underway for the transformation of health facilities by Aurangabad MP and city level advisory committee member of Smart City Imtiaz Jaleel. According to him, the smart health project Aurangabad Smart City has been taken up. Under this, it is proposed to build 3 modern multi-specialty hospitals and upgrade public health centers in 9 zones of Aurangabad Municipal Corporation. District Magistrate Sunil Chavan said that during the period of COVID-19 epidemic, the need to strengthen public health infrastructure has been felt. Due to this project, the administration will be ready for any further situation.
Proposal to improve the category of 54 municipal schools presented
Under the Smart Education Project, Smart City has proposed to improve the category of 54 municipal schools by spending Rs 64 crore. This includes improving basic facilities and provision of resources for digital education. As per the advice of CP Dr. Nikhil Gupta, training will be given to the teachers of Municipal Corporation from time to time to improve the quality of education in the Municipal Schools in Smart City. The Safari Park project is expected to generate employment and business for over 10 years tourists and thousands of locals every year. For the road leading to the Safari Park, the board has agreed to a proposal of Rs 5 crore 59 crore for construction and land acquisition. This project is under land editing, but will be started after the approval of the committee by the collector, municipal commissioner, city CP and independent director Bhaskar Munde. City Engineer Sakharam Panjhde, Executive Engineer BD Phad is guiding for this proposal. Apart from this, due to the proposed Bondri Wall of Safari Park, farmers need an alternative route. Under the assurance given by the local farmers, the Smart City Board has approved a budget of Rs 7 crore 70 lakh for the construction of this road. The guidance of MLA Ambadas Danve has been important for this tourism project.
16 crore 27 lakh will be spent on the construction of environment supplementary crematorium
Former MP Chandrakant Khaire, former Mayor Nandkumar Ghodele, former Deputy Mayor Pramod Rathod, former Chairman Raju Vaidya, Raju Shinde had given a letter to Aurangabad Municipal Corporation to improve the status of the cremation ground. Keeping their demand in mind, Aurangabad Smart City has taken up the project of constructing an environment supplementary cremation ground by spending Rs.16 crore 27 lakhs. The smart city will also provide seating, drinking water facilities and toilet facilities to citizens in 9 eco-friendly crematoriums in 9 zones of the city.
700 cameras are helping to keep law and order uninterrupted
During the meeting, city CP Dr. Nikhil Gupta said that 700 cameras and command control are helping a lot in uncovering the crimes happening in the city and keeping law and order undisturbed. He emphasized on the proposal of Integrated Security and City Operations Plot Farm introduced by Smart City. CP Dr. Gupta said that this project is the brain of the monitoring system. In the meeting, the Board has given green signal to construct the second and third skill development center like CIDCO N-5 centre, decorate Kranti Chowk Uddan bridge and Shivsrishti Prakalp, to advertise on digital outdoor display to get the generated.
Fund availability crucial: Pandey
Municipal Commissioner Astik Kumar Pandey said that the decisions taken by the ASCDCL Board are important to decide the direction of development of the city for the coming decade. President Baldev Singh has been the Municipal Commissioner of the city. He is very sensitive and eager for the development of Aurangabad. As CEO, I am grateful to the members of the Board for approving important projects for the development of the city. Only if the Municipal Corporation takes loan and fills its share before March 31, only then can the approved projects be implemented. The share of the Central Government will be available only after the contribution of the Municipal Corporation.
