Now again the Meteorological Department has warned of hail fall with rain on Tuesday and Wednesday. Due to which the clouds of disaster have started hovering over the farmers again.
For the last two decades, natural calamities have caused huge losses to the farmers. For the last four years, along with natural calamities, the outbreak of various infectious diseases on the crop has increased. There has been a huge decline in the production of cotton due to the bond worm. Last year, farmers had negligible production of soybeans due to the presence of worms on soybeans.
Farmers were expecting good yield this year. But due to heavy rains in the month of September, there was heavy loss of cotton crop. Due to continuous rains, the farmers have suffered losses due to rotting of the bonds and falling effect on the crop. To compensate for this loss, the farmers raised the status of Rabi. Due to which there has been a huge increase in the area of Rabi this time. The area of Rabi has also increased due to good water storage conditions in the same dams and wells.
-Bond Worm’s havoc again
The farmers had such expectations that the cotton crop would improve due to the rains and in the winter season. But due to the invasion of Bond Worm, many farmers started uprooting the cotton crop in November and December itself. Due to the land being vacant and not having it, the farmers have planted the crop of gram or wheat.
When the harvesting of tuvar starts, then the crop stands somewhere.
The Meteorological Department has predicted rain and hailstorm for two days. Due to the completion of Tuvar crop in the district, farmers have started harvesting. So the crop of Tuvar is standing in many fields. In such a situation, if there is unseasonal rain and along with it, there can be a huge loss of the crop of Tuvar. Due to which the lines of concern have increased on the forehead of the farmers.
– Threat to the gram crop
At present, the gram crop of many farmers is full and on loss. At such a time, there may be crop loss due to rain or hail. Due to rain, there is a high possibility of reduction in yield due to the loss of gram. And the crop can be damaged due to hail fall. As a result, farmers are facing another calamity in this season. Natural calamity is wreaking havoc on farmers one after the other. According to the warning of the Meteorological Department, there has been a big change in the weather in the last two days. Bad weather has started pouring in again.
