Bhiwandi : Powerloom city Bhiwandi is completely in the grip of traffic jam problem. Citizens are facing a lot of trouble due to the heavy traffic jams that are taking place all around the city. In Bhiwandi, the proverb of two and a half years, which lasted for 9 days, is being realized due to the severity of traffic jams. Municipal commissioner Sudhakar Deshmukh has demanded the immediate start of the traffic signal system at major intersections of the city to solve the traffic problem.
It may be mentioned that Bhiwandi powerloom city is completely in the grip of traffic jam. Due to the heavy traffic jams on all the major roads and intersections located in the city, it has become difficult even for people to walk on foot. Two wheeler and 4 wheeler drivers are compelled to walk by crawling due to the severe jam. Due to the traffic jam in the city, the proverb of two and a half years in Bhiwandi city is being fulfilled. Road accidents are also taking place due to the shutdown of the signaling system. Due to the traffic jam, the drivers are facing wastage of time including financial loss. Due to the traffic jam, the huge amount of carbon dioxide coming out of the vehicles is causing heavy pollution in the city, due to which people have to suffer.

Trouble due to signal system shutdown
Conscious citizens of the city allege that the signal system has been installed by the Municipal Administration at major intersections like Banjar Patti Naka, ST Stand, Jakat Naka, Kalyan Naka, Dhamankar Naka, Anjurphata etc. The signal system installed by the municipal administration by spending lakhs of rupees has stopped after some time. Due to the shutdown of the signal system, people are facing the problem of heavy traffic jam at all the major intersections of the city. According to the aware citizens, even a distance of 1-2 kilometers has to be covered in hours. It takes around 2 hours to cover a distance of about 1 kilometer from Mandai to the municipal headquarters.
Emergency services also got jammed
For the convenience of the citizens in Bhiwandi city, the essential services run by the government, including ambulance service, post service, banking service, bus service of school children are also suffering due to traffic jam. Due to heavy traffic jam, even emergency services are never reaching the destinations on time, due to which people have to bear the brunt. Janhit social organization has demanded from Municipal Commissioner Sudhakar Deshmukh to start the traffic system without delay.
