Bhiwandi: In the power loom city of Bhiwandi, there is a 24-hour jam situation on all major routes. Essential services are also getting disrupted due to the severe traffic jams. People are compelled to cover even a distance of 1-2 kilometers in Bhiwandi in hours. The negligence of the Bhiwandi Municipal Administration is such that even after spending about Rs 2 crore, the residents are not getting any benefit of the signal system. Due to the increasing traffic jam due to the closure of the signal system, there is a huge resentment among the citizens against the functioning of the municipal administration.
It is worth noting that the Bhiwandi Municipal Corporation, which came into existence about 18 years ago, has not constructed a parking lot anywhere in the city till today except on the ground floor of the residential building near Shivaji Park. Only buyers going from rural areas to Mandai, Teen Batti Bazar area are getting the benefit of the construction of parking space in the building located at Shivaji Chowk 2 months ago.
Vehicles are parked on the side of the road
Due to lack of vehicle parking space anywhere on the major roads of the city, people are compelled to park two wheelers, four wheelers on the side of the road. The residents of the city allege that the Bhiwandi Municipal Corporation has not even expanded the road and illegally installed rickshaw stands are also causing people to struggle with the jam.

The negligence of the Municipal Corporation exposed
Signals installed at Banjar Patti Naka and Zakat Naka by spending Rs 60 lakh did not work even for 15 days and were closed again due to lack of maintenance. At Zakat Naka, where the signal system has collapsed due to road excavation, the same red-green light is burning for 24 hours due to the failure of the signal system on Banjar Patti Naka, Shantinagar Road. Due to the burning of red-green lights, drivers are fearlessly coming here and there without waiting, due to which a situation of severe traffic jam has been created. Janhit social organization has appealed to Municipal Commissioner Sudhakar Deshmukh to repair the signal system including construction of parking lot to avoid traffic jams.
