New Delhi: A shocking incident has happened in the hilly area present in Anantnag district of Kashmir. Suddenly the ground sank in a mountain creek named Brengi, after which a deep sinkhole was formed there. After this, the water present there started falling into the sinkhole and after falling into this deep pit of water, the water ended up to a distance of 500 meters in the drain, which got hundreds of trout fish trapped in the dry rocky foothills.
After the water of the drain dried up, the local people have asked the district officials to investigate the situation and shift the fish safely elsewhere. According to reports, now the local people fear that if the size of the sinkhole gets bigger then the water may stop flowing in the drain, which will pose an existential crisis for the trout fishes.

Apart from this, other problems may arise for the local people. Let us tell you that only trout fish found in fresh and cold water are found in Brangi Nala. After the water in the drain dried up, the local people started collecting trout fish from the rocky foothills.
By the way, the catching of these fish has also been banned. The report quoted local people as saying that many small fish are still alive but if the water dries up, their hope of survival may be lost. It is being told that, taking this matter seriously, now the Fisheries Department of Anantnag district has engaged in the work of saving the rare trout fishes and a large number of fishes have been transported to the area of the drain water.
On the sudden formation of sinkhole, experts believe that it is completely a natural phenomenon. There is no need for people to panic because of this.
