LEOMINSTER — A Shirley man was arraigned in Leominster District Court on Tuesday in reference to a deadly October crash on Interstate 190 that killed a 16-year-old woman from Ayer.
According to assertion from Worcester County District Attorney Joseph D. Early Jr., 19-year-old Christopher Filz was arraigned on prices of motorized vehicle murder by reckless operation, motorized vehicle murder by negligent operation, dashing and reckless operation of a motorized vehicle.
Following the accident which occured on Oct. 6, State Police stated troopers on the Leominster Barracks acquired calls a few single-vehicle rollover crash on Interstate 190 north in Leominster at roughly 7:10 p.m. The Mustang went off the freeway, down an embankment and into the wooden line, State Police stated. Three passengers needed to be extricated by the Leominster Fire Department.
According to Early’s assertion, Filz was the motive force of the Mustang. The passenger killed on account of the crash was later recognized as 16-year-old Krystal Mello of Ayer.
A 16-year-old woman from Shirley and an 16-year-old male from Bolton had been additionally injured and brought to a Worcester hospital.
As a part of the arraignment, Early stated Filz was ordered to not drive and to remain away and haven’t any contact with witnesses and household of the sufferer.
The case was continued to Jan. 5 and is being prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Anthony Melia.
