Safe Holi 2022: Today the festival of Holi is being celebrated all over the country with full enthusiasm and gaiety. Holi is considered a festival of fun. By doing this, the preparations start much in advance. On this day, where people apply color and gulal to each other, many dishes are prepared at homes as well. However, during Holi, in the midst of riots and noise, many times we ignore some important precautions, due to which many times we have to bear the brunt of it. For example, the use of chemical colors, not protecting the skin or hair. In this regard, we have given some tips quoting a conversation with Dr. Kiranmay Atla, Plastic Surgery Consultant of QRG Super Specialty Hospital located in NCR. Keeping these in mind, we can make our Holi safe.
covid 19 safety guidelines
Corona is still not completely eradicated in the country. In such a situation, take some precautions while playing Holi. If possible, play Holi wearing a mask and celebrate Holi in small groups only. If someone has a cold, cough or fever, keep him away or stay away from him. It is safer to play dry Holi. Keep sanitizing hands. Wash your hands thoroughly before eating anything.
use of herbal dyes
Instead of artificial colors, mild herbal colors should be used for playing Holi. Chemicals are mixed in artificial colors, due to which there is a fear of skin energy. Rubbing the color on the skin also causes damage.
protect the hair
Hair can become dry if the color stays in the hair for a long time. Chemical dyes make hair dry. Before playing Holi, apply oil in the hair and cover it.
use of moisturizer
Before playing Holi and after playing Holi, apply moisturizer or coconut oil on the skin after taking a bath. Apply oil under the ears, on the ears and also on the nails.
use of lip balm or vaseline
Apply lip balm on your lips. You can also use Vaseline for this. This will keep the lips safe from chemicals. Wear full-sleeved clothes. This causes less damage to the skin.
use mild soap
To remove the color from the skin, avoid rubbing it tightly and use a mild soap to wash off. Do not sit too much in the sun after playing Holi, it can cause more damage to the skin.
don’t go to crowded places
Play Holi indoors and avoid going to crowded places. Instead of playing with colors in water, play with dry colors. People with symptoms of COVID or respiratory infection should take special care of themselves and avoid going among people playing Holi in large numbers.
