Russia Ukraine crisis live updates: The civil aviation ministry has lifted the ban on the number of flights and seats between India and Ukraine to facilitate the return of students and professionals stranded in the crisis-hit Ukraine. A ministry official said Bharat Airlines has been asked to increase the number of flights as the demand is rising due to tensions between Russia and Ukraine. India has asked its citizens to leave Ukraine, but no flights are available before February 20.
Now there is no restriction on the number of flights
India and Ukraine have a travel bubble agreement under which both countries can operate a certain number of flights per week. This travel bubble agreement became necessary when international travel was suspended due to the pandemic. But now thousands of Indians are trapped in Ukraine, so the ministry has decided to remove this border. This means airlines can operate any number of flights. Apart from this, chartered flights can also be run between India and Ukraine.
