Withdrawing money from ATM will be expensive
From January 1, 2022 i.e. from today, customers will have to pay more if they cross the free ATM transaction limit. On June 10, 2021, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) allowed banks to increase the fee after a limit for free monthly withdrawals from ATMs with effect from January 1, 2022. Every single bank gives cash and non-cash ATM transactions every month. Now from January 1, charge will have to be paid after the free limit. This charge has now been reduced from Rs 20 to Rs 21. Banks can withdraw cash from their own bank’s ATM 5 times for free and 3 times from other bank’s ATM.
Bank locker’s rules will change
According to RBI’s notification dated 18 August 2021, with effect from 1 January 2022, banks cannot absolve themselves of the liability of loss of locker contents due to theft or fraud by their employees. India’s central bank has placed the bank’s liability for such loss at 100 times the current annual bank locker rent. RBI has also directed banks to properly warn bank locker customers that the bank is not responsible for insuring the contents of the locker. RBI has also said that banks cannot sell locker contents insurance to their locker customers and this has been done to prevent the sale of insurance forcibly.

Buying clothes and footwear will be expensive
From January 1, 2022, 12 per cent GST will be levied on clothing and footwear. The Central Government has increased the GST on textiles, readymades and footwear by 7 percent. With this, now online auto rickshaw booking will have to pay 5% GST. Let us tell you, booking auto rickshaws from app based cab service provider platforms like Ola, Uber will now be expensive. Company’s share in EPF
Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) subscribers link their UAN number with Aadhaar. Today, three days after linking UAN with Aadhaar, i.e. 31st December 2021 is the last date. EPFO had decided to link Aadhaar under Social Security Code 2020. Under this rule, the UAN of all account holders is also mandatory to be Aadhaar verified. So that, you do not face any problem in the money deposited by the company in the account. Otherwise, your company will not be able to deposit its share of PF in your account.
