Mumbai: The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) said on Wednesday that passengers coming to Mumbai from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) will have to undergo an RT-PCR test, on the basis of which the decision of seven-day home quarantine will be taken. BMC Commissioner IS Chahal took this decision after a meeting with the civic body’s officials, deans of hospitals and medical superintendents through digital medium.
A BMC release said that the meeting took place digitally after talks with Maharashtra Tourism and Environment Minister Aaditya Thackeray. On December 24, the BMC made RT-PCR testing mandatory for passengers coming from Dubai to Mumbai and it has now been extended to passengers from across the UAE, the release said.
