After Virat Kohli was stripped of the captaincy of India’s one-day cricket team, the former coach of Team India, Ravi Shastri (former head coach) today took out his inner cavity after a long time.
It is worth noting that Ravi Shastri has also been accused like former white ball cricket team captain Virat Kohli that during his coaching tenure, India’s team could not win a single ICC trophy. Let us remind you that under the coachship of Ravi Shastri, the Indian team took part in 3 ‘ICC Tournament’, but could not capture a single title.
Significantly, when the players were selected for the Indian team for the ICC ODI World Cup, 2019, there was a lot of controversy about dropping Ambati Rayudu. At that time, this decision put a black spot on the understanding and strategy of BCCI. To cool the matter, the then batting coach Sanjay Bangar was also shown the way out of the team. But, this fire did not cool down, its embers kept their heat under the ashes. The decision to drop Rayudu will hardly be forgotten. However, then the coach of the team Ravi Shastri was not able to open his mouth, there must have been personal compulsions too. But, today the cloud inside them came out like lava of a volcano.
You must remember that under the coachship of Ravi Shastri, India made it to the knockout rounds of the ICC ODI WORLD CUP, 2019. Team India also reached the final of the first World Championship trophy in the history of Test cricket ‘ICC WORLD TEST CHAMPIONSHIP TROPHY, 2019-21’ but the trophy slipped out of hand.

In the ICC T20 WORLD CUP, 2021, India proved to be laggy. Let us remind you that even before the start of the World Cup 2019, there was a big controversy due to Ambati Rayudu being dropped. However, when the then captain Virat Kohli came on the public platform and said that Ambati Rayudu would be the number four batsman in his squad. Then Ravi Shastri’s mouth was stitched. He kept silence. Didn’t say anything. But now he opened his mouth about the selection of that team.
Former Indian team coach Ravi Shastri said in a special conversation with a news agency that he had no role in the selection of that team. But, he did not expect the inclusion of three wicketkeepers in that team in the form of MS Dhoni, Rishabh Pant and Dinesh Karthik. He said, “It was not right to have three wicket-keepers in the team of 2019 World Cup. Either Ambati Rayudu and Shreyas Iyer could have been in the team. I could not understand any logic behind the selection of three wicket-keepers for that team.
Ravi Shastri further said, “Despite all this, I did not interfere in the work of the selectors. I gave my views only when I was asked for my opinion during the general discussion.
It is worth mentioning that earlier Ravi Shastri also expressed his anger over the removal of himself from the post of coach. He said that he was deeply hurt by the way he was removed as the coach of the Indian team. He said that some people in the BCCI did not want him as a coach further.
