St. John’s (Antigua), Former cricket captain Ramnaresh Sarwan has been appointed as a selector in the West Indies men’s senior and youth selection panel till 2024. Sarwan’s appointment was confirmed at the Cricket West Indies (CWI) board meeting held on Thursday. He will be a member of both the panels till June 2024.
Along with Sarwan on the selection committee, batting great and newly-appointed chief selector Desmond Haynes and head coach Phil Simmons will be part of the senior panel while former leg-spinner Robert Haynes is also on the panel that will look into the selection of the youth team.

Sarwan said, “I would like to express my gratitude to CWI and everyone involved in giving me the opportunity to serve West Indies cricket again as a member of the selection panel. I am passionate about the game of cricket and especially West Indies cricket and have never hesitated when asked to contribute.”
He said, “I look forward to working with my colleagues Dr. Desmond Haynes and Robert Haynes and the two head coaches.
