Former captain of Indian cricket team Rahul Dravid has been made the new head coach of the Indian cricket team. The BCCI on Wednesday announced the appointment of Dravid. The tenure of the current coach Ravi Shastri will be completed with the end of the T20 World Cup 2021. Dravid will take charge of the team from the home series against New Zealand after the World Cup. According to a report, Dravid will get Rs 10 crore as salary as head coach.
Dravid unanimously appointed coach
According to the BCCI, Dravid will be the head coach of Team India till 2023. Presently he is the Chief of National Cricket Academy. According to the BCCI, the Cricket Advisory Committee of Sulakshana Naik and RP Singh on Wednesday unanimously appointed Rahul Dravid as the head coach of Team India (Senior Men). Applications were invited for the appointment of the coach on October 26.

Dravid said on this occasion, “It is a great honor to be appointed as the new head coach of the Indian cricket team and I am ready for this responsibility. “The team has performed very well under Shastri’s guidance and I hope to take this forward while working with the team,” he added.
Paras Mhambrey, who has worked with Dravid, can be made the bowling coach of Team India. Apart from this, Vikram Rathor will continue to be the batting coach of the team, while fielding coach R. No name has been decided yet regarding the replacement of Sridhar. It is reported that Rathore has also applied for the post of batting coach again.
