Chandigarh. Former Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh on Sunday claimed that state Congress president Navjot Singh Sidhu has “no brain” and that he (Singh) met party president Sonia Gandhi five years ago. ) not to include this incompetent person (Sidhu) in the party.
The former chief minister also disclosed in clear words that despite getting information about the involvement of current CM Charanjit Singh Channi and some other Congress leaders in illegal sand mining case in the state, he did not take any action “in the spirit of his allegiance to the party”. Amarinder Singh’s new party PLC is contesting the February 20 assembly elections in Punjab in alliance with the Bharatiya Janata Party and SAD (United). Replying to another question, Amarinder said that during his four-and-a-half years as chief minister in the second term, he had fulfilled 92 per cent of his election promises.
He said, “You tell me, what have I done wrong? If he had asked me to resign earlier, I would have resigned only then.
