Pulwama Attack: Today people in the country are remembering the soldiers martyred in the Pulwama attack with moist eyes. Three years ago on this day, Pakistan-based terrorist organization Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) attacked a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) convoy with a vehicle laden with explosives. 40 jawans were martyred in this attack. This attack was carried out on February 14, 2019 on the Srinagar-Jammu National Highway.
A month after this attack, Umar Farooq Alvi, who was involved as a key conspirator, was killed by the security agencies along with another terrorist named Kamran. Alvi was the nephew of Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Mohammed chief Masood Azhar. Both the terrorists were hiding in Jammu and Kashmir. The security forces had surrounded these terrorists in the early hours of 29 March 2019 and then both of them were eliminated in the operation which lasted for 30 minutes.
Today is the third anniversary of the Pulwama attack. The security forces were able to reach there through a message to eliminate the conspirators Alvi and Kamran. In this message, Alvi had sent a threat to Pulmama to kill the SP. According to information received from News18 sources, Alvi sent Pulwama a message to the SP by writing “Hi Janu” on a WhatsApp and wrote a pistol emoji and in another message – I will come to your house and kill you.
On receiving a message from an unknown number, the SP saved this number with the name Hi Jaanu and sent this number to keep the technical team under surveillance. For one month this number remained inactive. One night when Alvi and Kamran were hiding in Nowgam, they inserted the old SIM in their mobile and as soon as it became active, alerted the Pulwama Police Cyber. The reason for this was that this number was still under surveillance. Soon the technical team lowered the signal tower of the mobile and found the place where these people were hiding. After this the security agencies soon planned an operation. As soon as Alvi realized that he had been taken home, he tried to call his masters in Pakistan, but Alvi’s efforts did not work.
