Rae Bareli: Congress’ National General Secretary and in-charge of Uttar Pradesh affairs Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Sunday appealed to the public to beware of leaders seeking votes in the name of religion and caste. While addressing the election rally in Jagatpur, Rae Bareli, Vadra called upon the public to become aware of their rights. Vadra said, “On one hand there is talent, youth, fertile land in the state, on the other side there is problems of farmers, atrocities on women, unemployment, atrocities on Dalits. Why all this is happening because the politics that has come before you is only politics to mislead you.”
Vadra said, “Those who are leaders, they do not understand what their work is. They are thinking that after five years they will come here, talk about religion, stir up your feelings, make you feel insecure, talk about your caste and get your vote.”

The Congress general secretary said, “No one is thinking that if I will not work, I will not help small shopkeepers, will not build roads here, if I do not build educational institutions here, then I will not get votes, everyone is thinking that Will take votes from you in the name of religion, caste.” Referring to the rising diesel-petrol price and inflation, the Congress leader said, “In western Uttar Pradesh, sugarcane does not get a fair price and the biggest problem is of the unclaimed animals which are grazing your fields.”
He said, “The government is saying that it is giving you one sack of ration, but more than what it is giving, animals are eating crops in the fields. “The farmer owes Rs 16,000 crore for sugarcane, but instead of clearing the farmers’ dues, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has bought two airplanes for himself and is roaming around the world,” he alleged.
