Shiv Sena MLAs and MPs loyal to former Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray is not going to attend a gathering to be held in Mumbai on Thursday for the presidential ballot marketing campaign of National Democratic Alliance nominee Droupadi Murmu.
“We are not going for the meeting. There is no message yet whether Murmu will visit Uddhavji at ‘Matoshree’,” Sena’s Sindhudurg MP Vinayak Raut instructed PTI.
‘Matoshree’ is the non-public residence of Thackeray in Bandra space of Mumbai.
Thackeray on Tuesday introduced his celebration’s help for Murmu within the July 18 presidential election.
He had mentioned the Sena was saying help for Murmu with none strain, whereas acknowledging that that is the primary event whereby a tribal lady is getting the chance to turn out to be the nation’s president.
The Shiv Sena has 19 members within the Lok Sabha and three within the Rajya Sabha.
It has 55 MLAs within the 288-member Maharashtra Assembly, whose present energy is 287 as a result of loss of life of a legislator. Out of the 55 Sena MLAs, 15 are with Thackeray, whereas the others have joined the faction led by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde.
Last month, a riot led by Shinde in opposition to the celebration management led to the collapse of the Thackeray-led tripartite authorities comprising the Sena, NCP and Congress.
Murmu had earlier served because the governor of Jharkhand.
The Opposition has fielded former Union minister Yashwant Sinha in opposition to Murmu within the presidential election.
