After Uttarakhand, now in Goa too, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has retained its previous chief minister. Pramod Sawant will be the new Chief Minister of Goa. Pramod Sawant was elected the leader of the legislature party in the Goa BJP Legislature Party meeting held on Monday.
In Goa, Pramod Sawant was seen leading in the race for the chief minister’s post. After the unanimous decision in the meeting, BJP’s central observer and Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar declared Sawant as the leader of the legislature party. Pramod Sawant became the Chief Minister of Goa after the death of Manohar Parrikar.
Ever since the election results were out, there was speculation about the new Chief Minister. However, the party has reposed faith in Sawant. Narendra Singh Tomar said that Pramod Sawant has been elected as the leader of the legislature party. I congratulate Pramod Sawant ji on my behalf and on behalf of the party.

On this occasion, Goa’s nominated Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said that I am the Prime Minister of the country, party President J.P. Nadda, Home Minister Amit Shah and party leader because they once again gave me the opportunity to become the leader of BJP Legislature Party and Chief Minister of the state.
Earlier, in Uttarakhand too, the BJP elected the previous CM Pushkar Singh Dhami as the leader of its legislature party. This is the first time in Uttarakhand, when a leader is being made the Chief Minister again despite the defeat in the assembly elections. Dhami had to face defeat from his traditional seat, Khatima.
After the curiosity about the name of the next Chief Minister of Goa is over, now the Bharatiya Janata Party can soon present its claim to form the government before the Governor. The BJP won 20 seats in the 40-member House in the recently-concluded Assembly elections in Goa and now has the support of two Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party (MGP) MLAs and three independents.
It is believed that BJP will stake claim to form the government on Tuesday. BJP is going to form government in Goa for the third time in a row. BJP’s Goa unit president Sadanand Shet Tanawade had said on Sunday that the swearing-in ceremony of the new government in Goa would be held from March 23 to 25. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and senior BJP leaders will be present in this program.
