The Punjab Chief Minister, however, treated the protesters differently. He asked his driver to stop the car, got down from the car and went to the protesters.
The chief minister asked the protesters, “What are your demands?” One of them replied saying, “We have a meeting with you tomorrow in Chandigarh.”
After this CM Charanjit Singh asked the protesters, “If I have agreed to listen to your demands only tomorrow, then why are you stopping my convoy now?” A protester stopped the Chief Minister and said that his demands have not been met for more than two months.
Earlier on Wednesday, PM Modi’s convoy was stuck on the flyover for about 20 minutes due to the blockade by farmer protesters in Punjab’s Ferozepur. Its PM returned without attending any of his election programs.
The matter of this alleged security lapse has now gained momentum, after which there has been a political tussle between the BJP which is in power at the Center and the ruling Congress in Punjab.
