In this regard, the PMO said in a statement that during this visit, PM will be visiting Delhi-Amritsar-Katra Expressway, conversion of Amritsar-Una section into four laning, gauge conversion of Mukerian-Talwara rail line, PGI Satellite Center at Firozpur and He will lay the foundation stone of projects related to the establishment of two new medical colleges in Kapurthala and Hoshiarpur today.

Along with this, the PMO said that as part of Prime Minister Modi’s efforts to improve connectivity across the country, now initiatives have been taken to develop various national highways in Punjab as well. Due to which now the length of the National Highway in the state was 1700 km in the year 2014, while in the year 2021 it has increased to 4100 km. At the same time, in the statement, the PMO said that in order to continue these efforts, today Prime Minister Modi will also lay the foundation stone of two main road corridors in Punjab.
