Initially, under this scheme, only peasant families with two hectares of arable land were eligible, but in the second term of the Modi government, in the first meeting of the cabinet, the condition of two hectares of land was removed and all the farmers were included in it.

Farmers say that in the crisis period of the Corona epidemic, they got a lot of relief from the financial assistance provided under this scheme.

According to data from the Union Ministry of Agriculture, during the nationwide lockdown, 22 thousand crore rupees were transferred to the farmers’ account under this scheme.
