Bhiwandi : Bhiwandi Municipal Corporation Deputy Commissioner Deepak Jhinjhad has called upon the residents to pay the outstanding tax of the Municipal Corporation for the all-round development and basic amenities of the city.
It may be mentioned that the Deputy Commissioner of Municipal Corporation (Tax) Deepak Jhinjhad has called upon the residents of Bhiwandi Municipal Corporation to owe about Rs 569 crore to the residents of the city. Due to non-payment of dues, it is proving very difficult for the municipal administration to provide basic facilities including all round development of the city. For the benefit of all round development and basic amenities, the residents of the city must pay the tax dues of the Municipal Corporation. The residents of the city should cooperate with the Municipal Corporation by paying the outstanding tax.

The Deputy Commissioner of Municipal Corporation, Jhinjhad informed that about Rs 569 crore is outstanding on the defaulters in 5 divisions under the Municipal Corporation. 185 in Municipal Division Number Committee 1, 121 in Municipal Division Committee 2, 106 in Municipal Division Committee 3, 85 in the area under Municipal Division Committee and 62 crore in the area under Municipal Division Committee 5, the outstanding is going on against the properties of citizens. According to the orders of Municipal Commissioner Sudhakar Deshmukh, dozens of teams of municipal officers and employees are conducting arrears recovery campaign from morning to evening by setting up camps in door to door and resident Om powerloom areas. The Deputy Commissioner Jhinjhad expressed regret and said that the city dwellers repeatedly demand for all round development and basic amenities of the city, yet they do not pay due attention to the tax arrears. Due to the empty vault of the Municipal Corporation, the city development works have come to a halt. The residents of the city should cooperate and participate in the all-round development of the city by paying the outstanding tax.
Strict action will be taken against defaulters
Appealing to the residents of the city, Deputy Commissioner of Municipal Corporation Deepak Jhinjhad said that the Abhay scheme started by the Municipal Corporation for the convenience of the defaulters should be taken advantage of. The benefit of 100% interest waiver will be given on depositing tax during the Abhay scheme. The defaulters should avoid the unpleasant action of the Municipal Corporation by paying the tax. After the expiry of the term of Abhay Yojana, the property of the defaulters will be confiscated.
