Oil crisis investigation continues
The FIA investigated the oil crisis that arose in Pakistan last year. Now it has been said by this agency that the average storage capacity in the country is just 73 days left. Oil marketing companies have been asked to save on average 15 days of oil. This information has been given by Pak newspaper Express. Recently, on behalf of Prime Minister Imran Khan, it has been said that the FIA will investigate the oil crisis and talk about who is responsible for this crisis. PM Imran also removed Nadeem Babar and Petroleum Secretary, who advised on petroleum matters, due to the oil crisis.
Order to save 20 days oil
Oil companies have been told that they will have to save at least 20 days of oil according to the terms of the license. But now it seems that Pakistan is once again forced to face the same oil crisis that it saw last year. According to the FIA, there is going to be a huge shortage of petroleum products, especially petrol, in Pakistan. Pakistan’s Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra) wrote a letter in March this year stating that oil marketing companies would have to save 20 days of oil.
Petrol diesel shortage
Apart from petrol, there is also a shortage of jet fuel in the country. The companies had 2,654 metric tons of jet fuel which can meet the country’s 4-day requirement. Companies have protected 364,934 metric tonnes of high-speed diesel. This much oil is enough for just 17 days. Talking about petrol, the companies have stored 35,243 metric tons of petrol. This much petrol will be finished in just one day. 57,125 MT high speed diesel bus will run for 3 days only. Pakistan has faced a major crisis of petrol diesel in the last year. This year also it seems that it may have to face a huge shortage of petrol and diesel.
