Jabalpur: The Madhya Pradesh Police has arrested a person here for spreading rumors about a terror attack in Mumbai. The man had reportedly called the Mumbai Police Control Room on Thursday and informed about the terror attack there, which was done with the intention of spreading rumours. This information was given by an official on Sunday.
Jabalpur Additional Superintendent of Police Gopal Khandel told PTI that Jitesh Thakur (35) was arrested and sent to jail here on Saturday on the basis of the mobile number shared by the Maharashtra Police. He said that the accused had called the Mumbai Police on January 6.
He told that the accused is unemployed and he is addicted to alcohol. A case has been registered against the accused at the Sanjeevani Nagar police station in Jabalpur for criminal intimidation and giving false information to a public servant, a police officer said.
