Compared to ‘Women’s IPL’ (Women’s IPL) will soon be seen in the fields. For a very long time, the former and current players of women’s cricket had made their voices vocal that the organization of Women’s IPL should also be started. But, no decision came from the side of BCCI. But now BCCI President Sourav Ganguly has said a big thing in this maaml.
Sourav Ganguly said that the WOMENS IPL will start very soon and BCCI has started working on the necessary structural matters for its organization. And its blueprint will come in the next 3 months.
BCCI President Sourav Ganguly said in a special conversation with a news channel, “We have Womens IPL in our mind. We are working on its draft. We will tell very soon what we are going to do with this in the next 3-4 months and how and when this tournament will start.”
It is worth noting that for a long time, voices are being raised continuously for starting the ‘Women’s IPL’. When Indian Women’s Cricket’s T20 team captain Harmanpreet Kaur (Harmanpreet Kaur) had to think about organizing the women’s IPL after seeing her best performance in the Big Bash League. Harmanpreet Kaur not only scored 406 runs in BBL 2021 recently but also took 15 wickets while performing excellent all-rounder. She was also selected as the ‘Player of the Tournament’ of the BBL 2021 season.
Ganguly praises Harmanpreet
BCCI President Sourav Ganguly said, “I am very happy to see Harmanpreet playing so well in the ‘Big Bash League’. Because, he had a little tough time in England and Australia. I saw her play in the ICC Women’s World Cup in England a few years back. Then in the semi-finals, she (Harmanpreet Kaur) played an unbeaten innings of 171 runs. Scoring 171 runs for a young cricketer, that too against Australia (India vs Australia Women’s World Cup), probably the best women’s team in the world, is arguably special. Harman, Smriti, Shefali, Mitali and Jhulan Goswami, all of them are the strength of this team.

Harmanpreet Kaur’s voice paid off
It is worth noting that recently, ‘Player of the Tournament BBL’ of ‘Big Bash League 2021’, Harmanpreet Kaur talked about starting ‘Women’s IPL’. Harmanpreet Kaur had said in her exclusive conversation with a sports news agency, “I think the ‘Women’s IPL Tournament’ will start soon and we will invite foreign players as well. So that, they can also share their experience with the players of our country.
How and how soon will the Women’s IPL Tournament start
Many reasons are being given for the early organization of ‘Women’s IPL Tournament’. One reason is that ‘IPL 2022’ (Men’s IPL Tournament) 2 new teams have been added. This will bring BCCI 12 thousand crores. In such a situation, there will be financial strength to start the women’s IPL.
The second reason is also that, like men’s cricket, the cricket calendar of the Indian women’s cricket team is not as busy. So organizing ‘Women’s IPL Tournament’ will not be very difficult.
At the same time, most of the players of the Indian women’s cricket team have participated in ‘Women’s Big Bash League’ (BBL) and ‘The Hundred’ which started in England this year. The performance of Indian women cricketers in both the league cricket tournaments has been excellent. One reason would also be that BCCI should decide on it soon and announce its launch.
