Regarding the weekend lockdown in Mumbai, Mumbai Mayor Kishori Pednekar has said that at present, no decision has been taken on the weekend curfew.
According to ANI, the Mayor said, ‘No decision has been taken on the weekend curfew yet. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will chair a review meeting (via video conferencing) with Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray on the COVID-19 situation this evening.

Significantly, the cases of corona virus are increasing continuously in Maharashtra. At the same time, along with the increasing corona cases, cases of new variants of corona, Omicron, are also coming to the fore in the state. Till Friday, 3,007 Omicron cases have been reported in the country, in which Maharashtra alone has the highest number of 876 Omicron cases as compared to other states of the country.
