National education policy is going to lay the foundation of 21st century India: PM Modi

 

The Prime Minister said that so far our education system has been focused on “what to think” while in this education policy, “how to think” is being emphasized.


New Delhi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday termed the National Education Policy as the foundation of the new India of the 21st century, saying that so far our education system has been focused on “what to think” while the new education The policy emphasizes “how to think”.

Addressing a conference organized on “Transformational Reforms in Higher Education” under the National Education Policy, the Prime Minister expressed satisfaction that no region or class of the country had any complaints of discrimination.

They said,

“Every country goes on improving its education system with its national values, improving according to its national mission.” The aim is that the education system of the country should prepare and prepare the future of its present and future generations.

He said, “This is also the basis of India’s national education policy.” National education policy is going to lay the foundation of 21st century India and new India. ”

The Prime Minister said that there had been no major changes in the education system of the country over the years and as a result, instead of advancing the needs of curiosity and imagination in society, “Sheep Chal” was being encouraged.

He said that after three-four years of extensive deliberations, the National Education Policy has been approved after long brainstorming over lakhs of suggestions.



They said,

“This education policy has been emphasized to make India stronger, to take it to a new height of development, to further empower the citizens of India, to make them suitable for more opportunities.”

The Prime Minister said that so far our education system has been focused on “what to think” while in this education policy, “how to think” is being emphasized.

“Now the effort is to emphasize curiosity, discovery and discussion-based and analysis based methods for children to learn,” he said. This will increase the urge to learn in children and also increase their participation in their class.

Modi said that the national education policy is being discussed extensively across the country. People from different fields, people of different ideologies, are expressing their views and reviewing it.

He said that this is a healthy discussion, the higher it is, the more benefit the country’s education system will get.

They said,

“It is a matter of happiness that after the National Education Policy came out, there was no discrimination from any part of the country, from any section of the country that there was any kind of discrimination in it, or leaning towards one side.” It is a sign that people wanted a change in the education system that had been in place for years.

The Prime Minister said that after such a big reform, now it has to be focused on how it will land. He said that the role of people related to the education world is very important.

He said, “As far as political will is concerned, I am fully committed, I am full with you.”



Recalling the death anniversary of Guru Rabindranath Thakur, Modi said that he used to say that the highest education is that which not only informs but brings life in harmony with all existence.

Modi said,

‚ÄúThis is certainly the larger goal of the National Education Policy. Today, I am satisfied that while formulating the National Policy of Education of India, these questions were taken seriously. A new world order is coming up with changing times. A new global standard is also being set. ”

He said that the format of this national education policy has been decided, incorporating all points from root to jug, from Manuja to humanity, from past to modernity.

He said,

“The whole world has high expectations from 21st century India.” India has the ability to offer talent and technology solutions to the entire world. Our education policy also solves this responsibility of ours.

The Prime Minister said that teachers and professors are the biggest means of changing the education system, giving good students, good professionals and good citizens to the country.

They said,

Therefore, special attention has also been given to respect of teachers in the National Education Policy. There is also an effort that the talent of India should remain in India and develop the future generations. There is a lot of emphasis on the training of teachers in the National Education Policy. They keep updating their skills constantly, there is a lot of emphasis on this.

The conference is being organized by the Ministry of Human Resource Development and University Grants Commission.

During the conference, special sessions on important aspects of education covered under the National Education Policy, 2020 such as holistic, multi-disciplinary and future education, quality research, and equal use of technology for better access to education will be organized.

Apart from Union Human Resource Development Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal and Union Minister of State for Human Resource Development Sanjay Dhotre, the chairman and members of the committee set up to draft the National Education Policy, as well as eminent educationist scientists are also participating in the program.

The Union Cabinet approved the new Education Policy-2020 earlier this week. The new education policy has replaced the 34-year-old education policy, which was implemented in 1986. The goal of the new policy is to make such reforms in the schools and higher education system of India that India is called the ‘superpower’ of knowledge in the world.
