The US space agency NASA has given a big shock to Elon Musk, the CEO of SpaceX. Indeed, NASA has suspended SpaceX’s new $ 2.9 billion (about Rs 21 thousand crore) ‘Lunar Lander’ deal. The move was taken by NASA after a federal watchdog agency reported the two companies had lodged protests over the deal. It has the company of one of the world’s richest person and the owner of Amazon Jeff Bezos.
Due to the postponement of ‘Human Landing System’ (HLS), SpaceX is not going to get the first part of the amount of 21 thousand crore rupees immediately. This amount will be received only when the Government Accountability Office (GAO) takes a decision regarding these two protests. Due to the suspension of the deal, SpaceX will usually not be able to negotiate the initial negotiations with NASA during a deal.
‘Blue Origin’ and ‘Dynamics’ have opposed the deal
On April 16, NASA selected Elon Musk’s SpaceX company to be a ‘human lunar lander’. Disputes began to take place as soon as this deal took place, as people associated with the space industry believed that NASA should not depend on a company for such a high-profile deal. As a result, Bezos’s company ‘Blue Origin’ and ‘Dynamics’, which were involved in the race for the deal, protested against the deal with SpaceX by NASA to the Government Accountability Office.
Deal on the deal until the settlement of GAO complaints
‘Blue Origin’ alleged that NASA wrongly did the deal at the last moment and the agency threatened Space Landon of 2024 Moon Landing by choosing SpaceX. On the other hand, NASA spokeswoman Monica Witt said in a statement, in view of the protest filed before GAO that NASA instructed SpaceX that the HLS deal had been suspended. Until GAO resolves all outstanding lawsuits related to this purchase, there will be no progress.
… So NASA made a deal with SpaceX
According to NASA source selection documents, SpaceX’s Starship was chosen by NASA because it had the highest cargo carrying capacity and bid $ 2.9 billion, lower than ‘Blue Origin’ and ‘Dynamics’ Was However, it is to be noted here that the starship reusable rocket system of SpaceX is not fully capable of taking humans and goods to the moon or Mars. Work is still going on on this.
