Station work continues
97% tunneling and 82% civil works have been completed. 11 stations – Cuffe Parade, Vidhan Bhavan, Churchgate, Hutatma Chowk, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus, Mumbai Central, Siddhi Vinayak, CSMI-T2, Marol, MIDC and Seepz are nearing completion of more than 85%. Mahalaxmi, Science Museum, Worli, Dadar, Dharavi, BKC, Vidyanagari, Santacruz, CSMI T-1 and Sahar Road have crossed 75%. About 50% have happened in Girgaon, Kalbadevi, Grant Road, Sheetladevi, Acharya Are Chowk. 16 escalators have been installed, out of which 2 have been installed at Siddhi Vinayak station and one at MIDC station. 4 lifts have been installed at MIDC and Siddhivinayak station.
10 thousand crore increased cost
Due to the car shed dispute and other reasons, the project cost of Metro-3 has increased by more than 10 thousand crores. It was informed that the cost of the project has increased from Rs 23,136 crore to Rs 33,406 crore.
Colaba-Bandra Metro started in 2013
The Colaba-Bandra Metro, which started in the year 2013, was targeted to be completed by 2021, but due to non-construction of the carshed itself, operations will not be able to start in the next 2-3 years.
