Pakistani Maulana Sets Fire on Sofa: A video of a Maulana from Pakistan is becoming quite viral on social media these days. In the video, Maulana of Lal Masjid, located in the capital Islamabad, is seen setting a couch on fire. They have said, ‘Forget about sitting on the couch in Islam.’ Setting a fire on the couch among the crowd in his madrasa, 61-year-old Maulana has said, ‘The Prophet and used to sit on the ground with him for a lifetime. He (the Prophet’s companions) was a Mujahid and we have no place for those who like a life of comfort. ‘
In this video viral on social media, Maulana Abdul Aziz says that he has been hurt by the use of the couch in the madrasa and that too only for his students, who are undergoing Mujahid training. That means training to live a difficult life to become a warrior. He says, ‘Work hard.’ During this, others along with them help burn the sofa with the help of plastic and paper. Aziz does not stop here, but after setting the sofa on fire, he also starts cutting it with a knife so that it cannot be used in any way.
The mosque was under siege
This is not the first time that Maulana Abdul Aziz and his supporters have come up for discussion. Last year, these people had laid siege to Lal Masjid for four months and left it after entering into an agreement with the government. In this agreement, the cleric agreed to re-allocate a large land for the Madrasa Jamia Hafsa operated by Begum (Pakistani Maulana Sets Fire on Sofa). In 2019, the Supreme Court of Pakistan (Pakistan Supreme Court) quashed the administration’s decision to allot 20 kanals of land to Jamia Hafsa in H-11.

Government was troubled
When the authorities tried to evacuate the building, Aziz, along with his supporters, reached Lal Masjid in February 2020. Then, during the siege of Lal Masjid that lasted from July 3 to July 11, 2007, there was an attempt by Musharraf Government to remove him from there. Then at least 103 people were killed. The whole country was shocked by this incident. Among those who died was Aziz’s partner Abdul Rashid Ghani, his mother and son. Both these people supported the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), which is a terrorist organization. Who have attacked many public places of the country and killed thousands of people? Maulana was also jailed but then got bail in 2009.
