Mumbai: Dindoshi Police has arrested an accused in the case of robbery of 35 lakhs from the businessman’s car in the limits of Samta Nagar Police Station. It has been arrested from Unja village Mahisana Road in Ahmedabad. 11 lakh have been recovered from it. All these accused used to come from Ahmedabad to Mumbai by bike and used to run back to Ahmedabad after carrying out the robbery. The arrested accused is a resident of Delhi. This is the mastermind who was called from Delhi to Ahmedabad for this incident. The other 5 accomplices of the gang are absconding.
According to the information received by Police DCP Somnath Gharge, these accused used to do recce before coming to Mumbai from Ahmedabad. After that he used to run away to Ahmedabad after carrying out the crime. This gang had come to Mumbai a few days ago in the robbery incident in Samta Nagar. As soon as the complainant Sunil Gujjar kept a bag full of money in his white Fortuner car, his second accomplice, chasing the car in front of the car on the highway, took Sunil Gujjar out of the car saying that there was an accident. Some people started beating Sunil, his other accomplices broke the glass of the car and fled with a bag containing Rs 35 lakh kept on the back sheet.
Police checked CCTV footage
As soon as the information of the incident was received, the team of Samta Nagar police station including Additional Commissioner of Police Praveen Padwal and the team of DCP squad reached the spot and there the CCTV footage installed at the spot and the CCTV footage before the incident was scanned. In which the police checked the footage at more than 25 locations. In the investigation, it has been found that this gang used to come from Chhara Nagar in Ahmedabad to Mumbai by bike and by private bus. In Mumbai, they used to run away after carrying out 2 to 3 incidents in a row.
Samta Nagar Police is investigating the matter
These gangs gamble after looting money. At the time of the incident, the gang also keeps weapons with them, if needed, they used during the robbery. At present, the Dindoshi police has arrested the accused Pankaj Mishra (34) from Ahmedabad, who is a resident of Delhi. It was called from Delhi specifically for this incident. After the incident, Pankaj was trying to escape to Delhi, but before that, API Chandrakant Gharge of Dindoshi Police Station and Police Sub-Inspector Yogesh Kanhekar and team arrested after 4 days of hard work, handed over to Samta Nagar Police. The investigation is being done by Samta Nagar Police.
