Many faces of Dussehra: The festival of Dussehra is celebrated on the last and tenth day of Navratri. Mysore Dussehra

Mysore Dussehra was started by the kings of Vijayapur in the 15th century. The festival started again in the 17th century when the Wodeyars of Mysore established their kingdom in the south and started the celebration of Mahanavami.

In this, the devotees observe a fast, perform puja during the day, follow the tradition and perform Garba and Dandiya by wearing different colored clothes. Tamil Nadu
The Mutharamannan Temple, located in Kulasekharpattinam, a coastal region of the southernmost state of Tamil Nadu, comes alive on the ten-day festive occasion of Dussehra. On this occasion lakhs of devotees visit the temple in the form of king, beggar, monkey, devil or goddess. Devotees also beg in costume as they believe that it will help them to win over ego.
