Nagpur. Tension prevailed for some time in the Khamla campus on Wednesday afternoon when the enforcement department’s squad of the Municipal Corporation reached to take action against an illegal building with contingent. Especially due to the apprehension of a commotion here, the Municipal Corporation had already asked for a solid arrangement from the police. Action was started on Wednesday only after getting security.
Mukesh Pinjani and Sadhna Harwani, residents of Khamla, had not only occupied the government land and prepared the building, but also closed the main road of the Municipal Corporation. The building was constructed and it was given on rent. A complaint was made by the local people regarding this as soon as the squad reached for action. There was an attempt to protest, but due to the strong security arrangements, the action of the bulldozer continued.
During the action itself, a part of the wall collapsed on the vehicle of the Mahavitaran Company and the vehicle was damaged. Pradeep Mishra, Prashant Sontakke, Bhaskar Malve, Sunil Bavane took part in the action under the guidance of Chief Enforcement Department Deputy Commissioner Ashok Patil, Naib Tehsildar Abha Waghmare, Enforcement Inspector Sanjay Kamble.
8 handcarts including goods seized
Action was carried out in the Gandhibagh zone by another squad of the Enforcement Department. Despite continuous action in different parts of the zone, the spirits of the encroachers are high. This can be gauged from the fact that the encroachers had occupied the footpath in front of the zonal office and decorated the shop on handcarts. Despite the arrival of the squad, the business of encroachers continued. As soon as the squad started the seizure operation, there was panic among the encroachers. Many shopkeepers started running away with handcarts. Meanwhile, taking a tough stand, the squad not only confiscated 8 handcarts, but also confiscated the goods.
22 encroachers eliminated
Enforcement department squad took action under Laxminagar zone. As soon as the squad reached Eight Rasta Chowk, the illegal catering shops spread around the square disappeared in the streets. After clearing the entire encroachment of the intersection, the squad moved towards Khamla Road. There were shops on both sides of the road like Chowpatty on the pavement. The squad eliminated all these shops.
After which the action was carried out in Devnagar. In Devnagar too, temporary shops were illegally erected on footpaths at many places. During the action, the squad eliminated a total of 22 encroachments. It is noteworthy that under Hanumannagar zone, the squad had started the process of demolishing the dilapidated public toilets. On Wednesday, 4 of these toilets were demolished.
